The Welsh Ambassadors and Criw Cymraeg members got together to discuss the positives to learning another language, in particular Welsh. They planned a video and then made an iMovie to promote speaking Welsh. We hope you like it!

                          Welsh Christmas Card Competition

Your mission is to create a Welsh themed Christmas card cover.  A top 3 will be chosen from Foundation Phase and a top 3 will be chosen from Key Stage 2.  Our hope is that every child will bring a bilingual Christmas card home for the holidays.

Ideas you may want to include:

  • Welsh dragon, leek, sheep, daffodil, flag, etc. with festive decorations
  • Coch (red), gwyrdd (green) and gwyn (white) colours
  • Nadolig Llawen (Merry Christmas)
  • Blwyddyn Newydd Dda (Happy New Year)
  • Nadolig Llawen a Blwyddyn Newydd Dda (Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year)

The deadline for the competition is Wednesday 11th December 2019.  Please use the section below to design your card and return this sheet to Mrs Edwards in 5E.  Pob lwc!

The Criw Cymraeg and Welsh club got together to look at all the entries and choose the top 5 for KS2 and the top 3 for Foundation Phase.  It was hard as their were so many fantastic entries but we finally chose the winners.  What do you think?

Dw i'n meddwl mae cardiau nadolig yn FFANTASTEG!

Ymdrech bendigedig pawb!

Croeso i tudalen Criw Cymraeg... It is very important to learn to speak Welsh.

Here is why...

Advantages of Learning Welsh

Advantages of Learning Welsh 1

Why do we learn Welsh?

Does all of wales speak welsh? No only 75% of people do so...

We learn Welsh so that when we bump in to people who speak fluent Welsh we can have a conversation.

We also learn Welsh because we live in Wales and Welsh is our language.

Languages can get you a better paid job and can improve your understanding of how other people live and think.

Because learning another language  makes you more creative!

Your future best friend could speak Welsh so you know how to communicate with him/her.

We speak Welsh because you can travel more and meet new people.

It boosts your brain power and makes you brainier so it might help you land your dream job.

It also helps us to respect other languages and other cultures, as well as communicate with more people in the community.

All of their work will go towards helping us achieve the Cymraeg Campus language charter bronze award, which they are very excited about.
