Autumn Term 2018. Week 15

The staff have created a little something to thank children and their families for their hard work and continued support this term. You can view it here: https://youtu.be/vIrVzn5Xh7o

I would like to thank everyone for a fantastic term. We have worked so hard yet enjoyed our learning together  - there is so much to celebrate. The term has ended with a fantastic whole school assembly in which we all sang Christmas songs and laughed out aloud together, what a special time .

The children are tired and ready for a break -we particularly thank our youngest classes who led Christmas performances throughout this week, a credit to their families - you will see some photos uploaded on to the class pages area on this website. I would like to thank all of our audiences for being so respectful towards our younger children -this includes all of our beautifully behaved babies and toddlers who sat through the performances.

Congratulations to all of the many children who received a Bronze attendance badge this week and also to those who now have a Silver attendance badge  - what an achievement! We do realise that some children try really hard with attendance and  there is of course, genuine illness. We hope that by the end of the academic year, all children will secure a Bronze badge. We shall be aware of special circumstances for individuals.

The outcome of our Estyn monitoring visit was published yesterday and the school has received a report which I feel that you would wish to read, you will find this on the Estyn area of this website and the first section is attached to the newsletter sent home today - Friday.

As we look forward to next term, we welcome Ms Howells to the Year 5 team, she will teach 5E on Wednesdays, Miss Edwards will teach 2B and Miss Bell will cover Mrs Picton Jones's maternity leave from February onwards. Mrs Slade and Mrs Buxton , both of whom have been at the school for many years, will join our Nursery team. We wish Ms Bond every success as she moves on to her new school in January, we shall miss her.

On behalf of staff, Governors, and of course, our children  - I wish you a very Merry Christmas and Happy and Healthy New Year!
