Our wonderful Year 6 children made a collection for the magnificent staff in Ward 8 at Withybush. All of the presents were hand decorated and then delivered by some of our  children. We are completely overwhelmed by the efforts of our Y6, the fantastic ideas have come from the children themselves - it has been super to watch them decorate mugs and speak with such kindness about their work throughout this week, this is in addition to the work of our Y6 knitters who raised money for charity and the cards made and sent to young Bradley Lowry - thank you Y6!!!

This week has been a festive treat for all , with parties, discos and Christmas fun. The week started with Strictly Comes to Prendergast and an invited audience of parents and continued on Tuesday with Carols around the Christmas Tree. It was delightful to see our Toddler group meet Santa in his grotto on Wednesday morning and we must congratulate our Choir for their performances yesterday at the Leisure Centre, Curry's and Vincent Davies Store.

Today has been an exciting day from start to finish - Christmas jumpers and a whole school event to enjoy our Strictly dancers and to share some quality school family time with our favourite Christmas songs - special moments!!! Our annual Staff Christmas video 2016 was launched at the end of the day to the whole school - enjoy it by following this link : https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OiIkyDwAQmc

Merry Christmas to you all, I hope that your break at home is a super one. We look forward to seeing the children on 4th January 2017!!

What a fantastic week at school, truly special in every way. The first three days were filled with back to back performances by all our children.

Our Nursery boys and girls grew more and more confident after each performance of Our First Nativity, it was hard to believe that some of our youngest  three year olds have only been in school for one term. They looked delightful and were appreciated by all.

The boys and girls from Reception to Year 6 starred in The Twelve Days of Christmas and were superb, playing to an audience of more than  a thousand people over the three days, the show was fantastic.

Our audiences , as always at Prendergast, were so respectful and gracious regarding our children and I thank everyone for their kind comments which I have passed on to children and staff. A special mention must go to our Y6 children , several of whom had other things to overcome whilst performing -they were remarkable.

Thank you everyone - parents, grandparents, staff and of course, Mr Clarke our Director and all of our children!!

Today, (Friday), the children have enjoyed Sparkle Day and Christmas Dinner and over 60 families joined Family Friday activities for Crafty Christmas . It is a joy to be  a Headteacher at this school and work around so many wonderful people!

Our MoD film can now be accessed (for info , please check out the Homepage). The film stars pupils from Prendergast C.P. and Llantwit Major High School and was launched last week in Cardiff by the Cabinet Secretary for Education, Kirsty Williams AM. The film gives a snapshot of what life can be like for children of serving personnel. Myself, Mrs K Reynolds and Mr J Voros attended the event and met with the Minister to discuss the importance of this topic.

Next week, we look forward to parties, discos, Carol singing, Strictly Comes to Prendergast and maybe a very Special visitor as well as finishing this term's work!

    Have a good weekend Everyone.
