  • Mrs D Davies Summer Term Week 6

Fri 25 May 2018 Mrs Davies

What a quick half term.  I am so proud of our children for their massive efforts throughout the last few weeks, particularly through the National Test period - they have been super, a credit to their parents.  Thank you also parents for supporting your children so fantastically during this time - we had no tears, no real anxieties, just confident, determined and resilient children who were ready to give their all - and they did!!

We have had many highlights this half term, particularly with our Urdd rugby success but also with the residential trips enjoyed by our oldest children at school.  We have heard how they have been coasteering, surfing, mud running and orienteering and so much more this week at Celtic Camping, but also how they have been so marvellous and a pleasure to spend time with.  Well done children and thank you to the staff who have been so dedicated, leaving their families to stay with the children in order to give them such rich, memorable experiences.

Today, May 25th, GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) came into effect across the EU, please spend some time reading the notice on the Parents - Useful Information on our website, and I urge you please to view the link to find out more.

Have a great half term everyone!

  • Mrs D Davies Summer Term Week 5

Fri 18 May 2018 Mrs Davies

This week had a good start following our Rugby Team's performance in Aberystwyth on Sunday.  They reached the finals of the Urdd National Finals and played brilliantly - we are so proud of them.  It was a highlight of the week to have an email from one of the WRU referees who were with the team saying that "they were the  greatest school that he had worked with alongside the pitch and off" - what a statement!  Well done boys!

This week also, most of our Yr 5 children have visited the Urdd Centre in Cardiff.  They enjoyed the experience of Ice Skating, Techniquest, The Royal Mint etc... and lunch at The World Buffett.  A few of them took a fall when ice skating and their attitudes to their injuries were fantastic - a credit to their parents and accompanying staff - showing absolute resilience with a will to carry on regardless - they too are a credit to their families and school.

Everyday in school is a joy - you never know how the day will work out which of course is the delight we experience when working with children.  Throughout the week, our youngest boys and girls have been preparing for a Royal Party - they were overjoyed today to have a visit from "The Queen".  We smile at the thought of the stories that families will hear over the weekend around this.!!

Enjoy the sunshine this weekend everyone!

  • Mrs D Davies Summer Term Week 4

Fri 11 May 2018 Mrs Davies

A shorter but nevertheless productive week at school.  We hope that you all enjoyed the Bank Holiday break.

The school has experienced a quieter week as staff complete assessments with children, and key groups prepare for residential visits before half term.

Next week Yr 5 classes will go to the Urdd Centre at Cardiff and enjoy a wealth of activities, including a visit to Big Pit.  The week before half term, our Yr 6 classes will  spend the week at Celtic Camping - they are looking forward to it!!

We wish our Urdd Rugby boys good luck as they represent Pembrokeshire in the Urdd finals in Aberystwyth on Sunday !!

It was good to see our Yr 2 children out and about this afternoon on their investigating around the car park !

    Enjoy your weekend.

  • Mrs D Davies Summer Term Week 3

    Fri 04 May 2018 Mrs D Davies

What a super week at school for our staff to see our children at their very best and to let our parents know how very proud they should be of our children. Our Y2  - Y6 classes who have completed the National Tests this week have been exceptional. The children have approached the tests with a resilience, confidence and positivity... and we are all so proud of them. We could ask for no more from them. Even when faced with real challenge from some questions, they kept on trying, determined to offer their very best.

It has been a super week also for our school Rugby team who at the Pembs finals on Monday won all of their games. They  only had one try scored against them 6-1, all other games , they won 5-0!! What a fantastic achievement. The team will now represent Pembs at the Urdd National Finals in Aberystwyth on Sunday 13th May. Well Done boys -we are so proud of you -you have worked hard for this all year!

A reminder to everyone - as Summer approaches this weekend... enjoy the Bank Holiday on Monday !
