    Bore Da Everyone,

I keep being reminded that it is the end of the first week of the Summer Term and I am sure that for our children and many parents, like myself , this is a hard concept to grasp.

The school has remained open, repurposed for emergency childcare, teachers are working exceptionally hard as are so many children but everything is very different whilst we are apart as  a school family.

Staff communicate electronically, Senior leaders at school talk throughout the day , everyday, but often remotely and we make contact with hundreds of learners and families every week but via telephone and learning platforms.

Every child at school has access to a wealth of activities. If any parent has any problems in gaining access or worries about home learning, please give the school a call or contact your child's teacher.

Whilst I am aware of the work that our children are undertaking at home and we see super examples, we enjoy reading the daily comments that our children post, I understand fully that our parents and carers are not teachers and anything that can be done to support learning is a bonus. The only real important thing for me is that our children are safe and well, able to see this peculiar time at home as one of enjoyment and that they can look back at these new experiences with some really good memories. If the weather is good and you have some garden space, then enjoy it together. I don't want any of our parents to overly worry about home learning. We have a wealth of skilled practitioners at school who will pick up the children's learning wherever it is at when we return to school - that is what we do.

I just want them to be happy and well. Everyone of them is precious.

Have a good weekend . Children  - please remember to clap for our NHS heroes every Thursday and please give an extra clap for your school staff who are working so hard  for you and still coming into school to support the children of critical keyworkers . I always give them a clap but also a clap to your parents and carers - your very own heroes who are working so hard during this time.

    Take Care.

    Hello Children,

we are all thinking about you and missing you. We are about to spend another 3 weeks in "lockdown" at home with our families. This is extremely important and whilst you may be missing your friends and family members and  missing also enjoying life out and about, it is critical that you stay safe and well. We shall all remember these days for many years to come so fill them with good memories - learn new skills, focus on your learning and show the family you live with how great you are at showing values - be kind children!

Whilst we all miss being together, it is far more important to stay safe - we shall have good times together again when school is back to normal and we shall share our stories of the things that we have been up to.

Think of the wonderful Captain Tom who is making a difference through this difficult time and think how you too can make a difference, bringing joy to others.

    Take care boys and girls.

I hope that you are all well and staying safe. School hasn't been the same without the classes full with our children. We are still open and even over the Bank Holidays but as an emergency Childcare provision for the children of critical keyworkers from different schools across Haverfordwest.

I have enjoyed listening to your teachers when they have been telling me how you are getting on with your learning and being at home with your family.

I understand that for many of you that staying home for days on end can be very different, however we must all do this together to stay safe. It will be a precious time for you with your families, a time that you will always remember so please show your grown ups how super your behaviour and values are and what great learning you can achieve.

Please remember our lovely children to be the best you can be everyday.

    Take Care and Stay Safe.

  • Mrs Davies' Blog -Spring Term Week 10

Fri 03 Apr 2020 Mrs Davies

    Dear All,

I write this blog at a time when, looking back, we would have thought that we would have been breaking up for the Easter holidays.  We could never have imagined that our lives would have changed so much in just a few weeks.

For some children, they have now been home for two weeks and we do miss the buzz of our thriving school building filled with our dear Prendergast children focussed on their learning and we miss our regular weekly events like our Friday assembly when we all share the same room as a school family.  I miss you all and hope you are having a good time at home, staying safe with your families, learning as much as you can but also enjoying the good weather and resting.

For our families, please enjoy the time with your children.  We are always here to support you whether that is around learning or your family's needs.

For this last week, our school has become a Hub School for emergency child care provision.  It has been very different having children in small groups at our school.  Teachers are still working hard!

    Take care everyone.

    Stay safe!

    Mrs Davies
